#10- Nobodiness

The unexisting word nobodiness defined in my mind would be the feeling of alone, despair, regret. It's a feeling of being alone even if you are surrounded by people. All of my classes I feel this way. When I enter there's no one I can smile, ask about their weekend, chat about relationships. No one I will ask to borrow a piece of papper from or ask what the #8 was for the classwork. The feeling encompasses me almost everyday, until I reach my 4th period class. English with Mr Wight. I feel at home in this class. There's people I can talk to, ask what the homework was, discuss events going onin my life, and just have a splendid time with. It's a feeling of relaxation, but also gratitude because I always learn something from this class. I don't have to cheat like history or chemistry. You are always acquiring knowledge from this class and it makes my day everytime I go there.

#9-Tuesdays

"The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in."
Morrie tells to Mitch on the first tuesday they spent together. The novel Tuesdays with Morrie has taught me to show affection more than I have in the past. Mitch Albom has his book relate to almost everyone who has ever loved someone. For me, Albom told a fantastic, true, loving story that anyone who has a brain would enjoy. "Love is the only rational act," Morrie said one tuesday, forshawdowing that this would be the reaccurring theme through out the novel. Albom changed the way I'll look at life. I won't just look at nature, I will really see into it and understand it's meaning just like the book talks about. Morrie realizes how important it is to be compassionate to others and he is for the remainder of his loving life.

#8- Perfect

(First I need to start off with, I'm sorry Mr Wight but I lost the list of words we discussed so I've decided to simply pick a random word that I thougt fit this blog.)

"The most valuable thing you can make is a mistake- you can't learn anything from being perfect." ~ Adam Osborne.
People want perfect. It's the way we're created. We want the best thing for us, whatever that may be, and strive to get it. Some people think that being the perfect weight will solve all unsolved problems in their life, others think that getting married, having kids, and growing old is the perfect life. But we will never achieve real perfection no matter how close we think we are. Perfect's meaning seems peaceful and happy, but from me it just is a toxic word that entangles people into a vicous circle that we'll never get out of because we will never be perfect.

#7 The Bee Book.

The Secret Life of Bees is a noval brodly written about forgiveness. This is a story of a young girl, Lily Owens, who is mistakenly thought that she had killed her mother when she was four. Lily’s journey is one of painful secrets, betrayals, and hope that in the end helps her find the thing she longs for most.
She needs to cope with the loss of her mother and find forgiveness with in herself, and by the end of the novel she is able to do just that.
"Sue Monk Kidd has written a forgiving story for the motherless child in all of us." ~Shelby Hearon

#6 Addictions.

What are some of the words that construct in your mind after you hear the word addiction? Alcohol, cigarettes, bulimics, drugs, sex, coffee, pills, porn etc. All these words are criticizing and induces their negative meaning. "Addiction" is a term that is harmful and socially disapproved. But positive addictions are out there, just waiting for people to cling on to them. Being addicted to performing an activity without negatively criticizing yourself is a way to expose yourself to the real you and then you may find out who you are.
Addiction should never be treated as a crime.
~Ralph Nader

Blog #5- Box Man Question

Why do people think that, in society, bigger is better?
If you have more "friends" in high school, a teenager is considered popular. If someone has a big house with seven cars their noted as lucky, when in reality they could be in debt up to their perfectly curled eyelashes. With a short story such as The Box Man, he is completely alone with hardly any possessions or materials items but he is absolutely satisfied with his simple life. He reads the paper, people watches, listens to the voices in his head, and minds his own business day by day. He is what more people should take a good look at, and then review themselves. Do I really need to buy this brand new SUV for my 16 year old daughter? Teenagers also need to revise their actions and appreciate what they are given by their guardians.

Blog #4- Compare and Contrast

In the book The Great Gatsby written by F. Scott Fitzgerald there is a lot of cheating and scandles. With similar tastes, the strong headed Tom Buchanan and fabulously wealthy Jay Gatsby both have an eye for Daisy. Tom married her but she never truely loved him. Daisy always had the idea of Gatsby coming back from war and sweaping her off her feet. When he finally does appear she's married to Tom, even though she's fully awear of Tom being completely unfaithful. The story unravels and tragedies occur. Tom would never think he is alike to Gatsby but little does he know they have much in common. The New York Times did note that "sex was the national obsession," so these adults living in the 1920s try to keep their cahoots under wraps.

Blog #3 Critical Review.

In my opinion, The Great Gatsby is one of the best classic novels. The book is a clever tale about a rich man, named Jay Gatsby, who enjoys surrounding himself with people who relish in his wealth. The main theme of the book is ttaking in the 20s about the American idealism and immaterial nature has been corrupted by wealth. The novel is a broken hearted love triangle, Daisy Buchanan is married to treacherous Tom, and Gatsby is caught falling for Daisy, and all the drama unravels before Nick Carraway's eye. I found myself wanting to read more and more every night but found that lights had to be out at 12, so i would crawl under my blankets with a booklight just to finish up the chapter. The story is riveting and one of the great classics of twentieth-century literature.

Blog #2

I haven't read too many non-fiction books, but from memory I remember reading Go Ask Alice. It's a diary of a young troubled girl who goes further and further down the wrong path as a drug addict. It's purposed as a testimony against drugs. This fifteen year old girl gets slipped LSD in her drink at a party and months later she becomes hooked and homeless. Many teenagers have troubled pasts, and after reading this book I felt like it really related to me in some ways, like not feeling pretty and not having very many friends, so she just writes everything down. I'm not addicted to any hard drugs but we all have our weaknesses, some people are just smart enough to never do anything of it in the first place so they never have to pick their poison...
